One-to-one support shaped around the individual

E'Lou is developing private duty options for individuals who may need extended personal support or skilled nursing in their home, subject to the correct Florida license and care authority.

Planned Private Duty Options

The service level follows the person's actual needs

E'Lou will confirm the service category, qualifications, written orders, payment method, schedule, and safe staffing before accepting a private duty arrangement.

Personal care support

Assistance with activities of daily living—such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transfers, and ambulation—when provided by appropriately qualified personnel under the applicable Florida service authority.

Extended in-home support

Longer scheduled visits, respite support, safety observation, routine assistance, and family communication based on assessed need, staffing availability, and the written service arrangement.

Private duty nursing

Extended skilled nursing by a Florida-licensed RN or LPN for a person whose condition requires more continual nursing care than a standard home-health visit can provide.

Complex-care routines

Ordered nursing support for complex treatment, medication, monitoring, or technology-dependent routines when the assigned nurse is qualified and the service is authorized in the plan of care.

Understanding Private Duty

Two terms that should not be confused

Private-pay personal support

May focus on daily living assistance, supervision, respite, and household routines. It is not automatically skilled nursing and must still be delivered under the proper service authority.

Private duty nursing

Is skilled, extended nursing care performed by an RN or LPN under applicable medical orders, a plan of care, professional scope requirements, and payer authorization when insurance is involved.

Florida Medicaid PDN

A defined benefit with specific eligibility rules

Florida Medicaid describes private duty nursing as medically necessary skilled nursing for eligible recipients under age 21 who are under a physician's care, have an order in the plan of care, require more extensive and continual care than a home-health visit, and can be safely served at home or in the community.

Eligibility does not automatically authorize a particular provider or number of hours. Provider enrollment, authorization, network requirements, medical necessity, and staffing must all be verified.

Payment and Scheduling

Every arrangement must be confirmed in writing

Private duty services may be private pay or may involve a qualified insurance or public-program benefit. Coverage varies and must be verified before the start of service.

Requested hours are not guaranteed. The final schedule depends on assessed need, authorization, the written agreement or care plan, professional availability, and safe staffing.

Availability and emergency notice

This page describes planned services. Private duty care will not begin until the required Florida licensing, personnel, orders, and operational requirements are satisfied. E'Lou is not an emergency-response service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
